Pirates showed off their talents over the performance opportunity at the community event scholarships, and the performance opportunity at the community event 5th Annual Peninsula’s Got Talent that was pushed upon from the Feb. 15 to 22 because of the snowstorm.
Two of the Associated Student Council members, David Harvey and Casandra White were the judges along with President Luke Robins for the night.
Alix Romasanta, who sang “Jealous” by Labrinth won the first place and covered herself in glory. Second place followed with Daisy Spiridakis-Lopez who sang a special song for her deceased grandmother, “Tu Solo Tu,” by Selena and third place followed with Zoe Yate, who sang her original song “Starlight” with her guitar.
$500 scholarship was awarded for Romasanta, $300 for Spiridakis-Lopez, and $200 for Yates. Romasanta will be performing at the 2019 Juan de Fuca Festival, which will be from May. 24 to 27.
