Peninsula College will host a first-ever Discover PC Day Wednesday, May 29. From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., approximately 25 booths will be set up to share information on student life, services for students with disabilities, tutoring, advising, financial aid, scholarships and enrollment. Faculty will be on hand to answer questions about PC Areas of Study.
Sara Rinearson, the former Student Recruitment Coordinator, currently working as the Director of Upward Bound is in charge of this event.
“The purpose is to provide a family-friendly event for the community to come up and just learn about what has been going on within the campus, all of the options and resources at Peninsula College,” she said. Her hope is that the college will be able to attract families and those who may not be able to make it otherwise to other events.
Free food will be available at concession stands, a game zone with prizes for kids will be set up, and Play the Pirates soccer scrimmage will be at 6 p.m.
At the beginning of every hour, there will be a “treasure walk.” Staff will raffle off the prizes. Rinearson thanks the businesses within the community that have been generous in donating gift cards and prizes.
