PC held its Inflatable Joust tournament in the PUB on Jan, 9. It was the first event of Pirate Pete week. The definition of joust, according to Merriam-Webster’s dictionary is “to engage in combat with lances on horseback.” Other definitions by MW allow for the use of weapons other than lances, but still require combatants be atop a steed. This was not a joust. It was a beatdown. Onlookers cheered as competitors boffered for supremacy. Nearing the end of the event, Pirate Pete challenged students to swashbuckling duels to learn who was the true captain of the campus (or proven Pirate of the Peninsula?).
