Zak Hoskins has been named Associated Student Council President for the 2016-2017 school year; Alex Losee has been named Vice President; and Ellie Small is the new Vice President of Programming.
“My biggest concern next year’s budget, there’s always a lot to be done there,” Hoskins said.
Small spoke about getting athletes more involved with the activities and goings on around campus.
One of Losee’s main concerns is student involvement, “I am not fully aware of all the goings on at campus and I’m sure many other students at Peninsula College feel the same, but I want to help PC students feel like they are more than classmates we are a family.”
When asked what experience they had that would suit them to leadership positions, Hoskins said, “I’ve got a lot of experience when it comes to how the ASC runs.”
Losee said that his leadership experience stems from being older, and doing a lot of missionary work in West Africa.
Small explained “I have a lot of experience being a leader and I’m very enthusiastic to learn.”
After being asked what the candidates would do to improve publicity at Peninsula College. Hoskins said, “The best way is to go talk to people one on one and spread the word.” Losee responded with the idea of a mass email list. Small suggested using more social media to advertise the events.
Then asked: “What is something that sets you apart?”
Hoskins replied, “I am very assertive and I have a lot of experience with the ASC.”
Losee said, “I am well organized and very good at prioritizing my work.”
Small said that, “I be friend a lot of people, and for me happiness comes first.”
