Jason Trammell former Peninsula College Associated Student Council President, is on to bigger and better things. While at Peninsula College, he made the All Washington Academic team, was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the honor society, and was in the PC’s business club.
After graduating from Peninsula College with an Associates in Business, Trammell has been studying at The University of Washington. He is currently enrolled in the UW’s business program, a very competitive technical program. He has achieved honors and been on the UW’s president’s list consistently. He will receive a BA in business in June.
“I owe it all to the work I put in at PC,” Trammell said.
He is also a member of Delta Sigma Pi, one of the largest co-ed professional business fraternities in the United States, according to the fraternity’s website. One of 80 members at the UW in this particular frat the group participates in a variety of community service in addition to helping its members in being groomed for the professional world after college.
Trammell landed an internship for a local start-up company, Business Development, where he did work for everyone from the CEO down.
“One of the most important things to do in a four year business technical program is landing an internship. In an internship you learn marketable skills for your career in the real world,” Trammell said.
This summer Trammell was accepted for a coveted internship at Protiviti a global consulting firm “Consulting internships are a very sought after job at the UW,” he said.
“Jason takes his education seriously,” said Dan Underwood, Trammell’s former economics professor, “he has a goal and he sticks to it.”
Trammell attributes much of his success to skills he learned at Peninsula College. “Stay involved and get leadership experience” was the advice that he gives students getting ready to transfer to a university. He also commented on the competitiveness of a technical program at university level, “You are amongst hundreds of applicants competing for the same jobs,” he said. Preparing for a university is what Peninsula College is all about, for many of the students.
